Interview: The Inspiring Story Behind Gate of Christ Daily Devotional
Please share with us your name and the inception of Gate of Christ Daily Devotional, and what sparked this endeavor?
My Name is Emmanuel Ehis Aloja
I embarked on Gate of Christ Daily Devotional on June 24th, 2015, following my rededication to Christ. This transformative experience filled me with immense gratitude, prompting me to explore ways to connect with like-minded individuals who share a deep hunger for God. I recall asking myself, 'How can I reach out to people like me?' The response came in the form of a gentle whisper in my spirit, urging me to share daily devotions online. I heeded the call, and thus began this remarkable journey.
What fueled your perseverance during challenging times?
My unwavering determination, rooted in my faith in Christ, served as the driving force behind my persistence. While there were moments of exhaustion and uncertainty, I remained steadfast, recognizing that this endeavor was not merely a personal aspiration, but an act of obedience. The Holy Spirit's guidance and strength enabled me to maintain consistency and push forward.
What words of encouragement would you offer to someone who feels called by God to initiate something new?
I would urge them to follow the gentle leading of the Spirit, unencumbered by feelings of inadequacy or uncertainty. When God plants a vision in your heart, He will graciously provide the necessary empowerment to bring it to fruition. My personal experience serves as a testament to this profound truth.
As you reflect on your journey, what are your thoughts?
I am overwhelmed with gratitude, acknowledging God's sovereignty throughout this incredible journey. The growth, the lives touched, and the lessons learned – all of these are a testament to His boundless grace and faithfulness. I am humbled and grateful that He chose to use me as a vessel for His purpose.
How Did Your Mum Inspired You
Gate Of Christ devotional life wouldn’t be what it is today without my mum. She doesn’t just tell me to pray — she prays with me. When I started slacking, she began sending me a Bible verse every 6:am without fail. No pressure, no lecture. Just love. Her support taught me that consistency in God isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up. And having someone in your corner, cheering you on spiritually, makes all the difference. I’m grateful God gave me a mother who disciples me in the small, daily moments. I pray that her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift me in the days ahead. Mrs. Eki Aloja, your memory will live on in my heart, and I will continue to strive to make you proud. Thank you for being such an amazing mother and role model.
